About NextCFile
A small, invite-only file drop that started as a weekend project and stuck around.
Why it exists
Sending a large file to a friend should not require an account with a giant cloud provider, a pile of trackers or a link that lives forever. NextCFile does one thing: you upload a file, get a link, and the link disappears when you want it to.
How it works
- Files are encrypted in the browser before upload; the key stays in the link fragment and never reaches the server.
- Every link has a lifetime (24 hours by default) or a download limit.
- Expired files are deleted automatically, including from backups.
Who runs it
NextCFile is run by a single person on one small server. There are no investors, no ads and no plans to sell anything. Access is by invitation so the service stays fast and costs stay low.
